Dear friends-

In less than 2 months, Braintree voters will go to the polls to elect our next mayor. This election will determine the future direction of our Town – a decision that cannot be taken lightly.

Braintree residents deserve to have an unbiased presentation of the positions, policies, and future vision of the candidates, which is why I challenged Mayor Kokoros to participate in a series of 5 debates about issues facing Braintree. These debates should be non-partisan and accessible to the public.

In order to give organizations ample time to plan, I asked for his response by yesterday. He never responded.

I'll be honest —  I am not surprised AND I am also disappointed —  for all residents of Braintree who deserve to hear directly from us.

Let me be clear. I am not a politician. I am a business owner and active community member who was perfectly content running my company, volunteering in the community, and raising my children with my husband in the town we all love.

But the continued lack of responsiveness, lack of vision and leadership, and fiscal irresponsibility of this Mayor made it clear that we need someone else in the Mayor's office.

I'm not giving up hope. I look forward to hearing from the Mayor if and when he responds to my request.

In the meantime, let me share a video with you from this year's budget hearings. Town Councilors and financial experts are deeply concerned about the dire state of our Town finances, yet the Mayor believes everything is just fine.
