Erin Joyce Announces Candidacy for Mayor of Braintree

BRAINTREE – Erin Joyce, a Braintree business owner, past Planning Board Chairperson, and Hollis Elementary School PTO Board Co-President has officially declared her candidacy for Mayor of Braintree. Erin will hold her official campaign kickoff event on Monday, May 15 from 6-8 PM at Crossroad's Pub in Braintree. The election will take place on November 7, 2023.
Joyce said, "I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor. Braintree is a special place for us all -- there's no better community on the South Shore to live, work, raise a family, and retire. My husband and I are raising our three boys here, and I own a small business in town. For nearly the past decade, I've been committed to keeping our community strong, as Chairperson of the Town's Planning Board and Hollis Elementary School PTO Co-President."
She continued, "Right now, the Town is at a crossroads and is facing significant challenges. It's time to get Braintree back on track with professional administration and decisive leadership, a fiscally responsible commitment to taxpayers, and a dedicated focus on our families in the Braintree Schools."
Many know Erin from her years of public service in Braintree. She has been an outspoken voice for our town through her work as Chair of the Braintree Planning Board and as a member of the Braintree Master Plan Steering Committee and the Braintree Charter Review Commission. Here, she has shown leadership by taking on some of the complex challenges our town is facing.
Erin is a member of the Braintree Chamber and South Shore Chamber of Commerce and has the fiscal and management experience to lead the town forward. Additionally, she is a Board member of the Massachusetts Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors and National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying Board and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers Member and the Boston Society of Civil Engineers.
Erin and her husband, Michael, are raising their three boys in the same community where Michael grew up. As Hollis Elementary School PTO Co-President, Erin has been a leading voice and advocate for our Braintree Public Schools. Erin is a Braintree Youth Soccer coach and actively involved in numerous youth-based activities.
Erin is a Suma Cum Laude Graduate of Syracuse University, a graduate of the Leadership South Shore Program Cohort, and a member of Strong Towns, an organization committed to making cities safe, livable, and financially resilient.
